I ran into an unexpected problem when the Dell Optiplex 9010 computer that I use to control the reflow oven failed. It no longer boots at all, apparently the hard drive failed. This is a real problem because I don't know where to obtain the oven control software to reinstall it on another machine. Fortunately, the previous profile is still retained in the oven so I was able to simply hit the "Run" button (hold for 3 seconds).

This also brings up the larger issue that the PnP machine is running Windows XP with custom software. I have a Ghost disk image of the drive, but if that drive ever fails it will be a nightmare.

At some point, I should try to create a VM of the existing Windows XP disk and try to boot it into Windows7 running XP as a VM. I would feel much safer then.
